The strongest predictor of whether you will earn a Bachelor's Degree continues to be that person’s highest level of math achieved in high school, regardless of race, family income, or background. Additionally, no other math class accounts for as great an increase in your likelihood of earning a Bachelor's Degree than Algebra 2 (now Math 3): only 5% of college students whose highest level of math completed is geometry can expect to earn a Bachelor's Degree, while 18% of college students whose highest level of math completed is Algebra 2 can expect to earn a Degree. In other words, students who successfully complete Math 3 are more than 3 times more likely to be successful in college.
